Well, here it is! The cover to my very first sketchbook! Hopefully, everything goes alright with the printing and that it turns out ok.
Rogue, from the famous Jim Lee era of the X-Men. X-Men #1, which was drawn by Jim Lee, was the first mainstream comic that i ever picked up. It was the comic that got me totally into comics and it changed life. The dynamic characters and the amazing layouts by Lee inspired my style for years and got me into drawing the type of stuff that you see from me today!
After watching the Wonder Woman animated feature that came out a couple of weeks ago, i just HAD to do another drawing of Diana. The film was too phenomenal for words. Director Lauren Montgomery (who is one of the most amazing artists out there) and her team put together one of the greatest comic animated features ever. If you haven't checked it out, please go out and do so now!
Despite what a lot of people are saying, i actually thought the Watchmen movie was good. While i do have my gripes and nit picks about certain things, I fele that it is probably the best that we could possibly get when translating it to a 3 hour movie. I mean, look how detailed the book is! It's basically would be impossible to be able to adapt all of that and still manage to keep the average movie goers interest for an extended period of time.Be sure to come out to the FX International at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando on April 17th-19th! It will be my first con ever in the creators area! I'll be selling sketchbooks, prints and the last remaining proofs to my Marvel Masterpieces cards from last year (trust me, they look waaaay better than the actual cards i did). Plus, they are signing guests like crazy for this thing. They got Leonard Nimoy for crying out loud! Leonard FREAKING Nimoy lol! Come on now, you know you want to go....
Head over to the site and check out all of the guests and events:
