Copic Madness!

More messing around with Copic Markers.

Whats fun about this is that I used to do marker sketches all the time before switching to completely digital. I used to focus mainly on Prismacolor markers, but i'm seeing now that Copic markers are the way to go.

Well here you go: Jem, The Comedian and Bravestarr!

New email address and random sketches from FX!

FX was a blast! A detailed update is coming soon, but here are a few sketches from the show (plus a few random extras). I'm still learning the whole Copic marker thing...

FYI, my new email address is BigChrisGallery@aol.com

Your wish...

...is her command! This darling genie was derived from an old Johnny Bravo cartoon that i saw years ago. I liked the design and decided to put my own little spin on her. Hope everyone digs it!

Sketchbook!

Well, here it is! The cover to my very first sketchbook! Hopefully, everything goes alright with the printing and that it turns out ok.

It's Rogue, Sugah!

Rogue, from the famous Jim Lee era of the X-Men. X-Men #1, which was drawn by Jim Lee, was the first mainstream comic that i ever picked up. It was the comic that got me totally into comics and it changed life. The dynamic characters and the amazing layouts by Lee inspired my style for years and got me into drawing the type of stuff that you see from me today!

Zatanna!

The Mistress of Magic herself!

Lucky Leyla!

Diana of Themyscira

After watching the Wonder Woman animated feature that came out a couple of weeks ago, i just HAD to do another drawing of Diana. The film was too phenomenal for words. Director Lauren Montgomery (who is one of the most amazing artists out there) and her team put together one of the greatest comic animated features ever. If you haven't checked it out, please go out and do so now!

Who watches the Silk Spectre?

Despite what a lot of people are saying, i actually thought the Watchmen movie was good. While i do have my gripes and nit picks about certain things, I fele that it is probably the best that we could possibly get when translating it to a 3 hour movie. I mean, look how detailed the book is! It's basically would be impossible to be able to adapt all of that and still manage to keep the average movie goers interest for an extended period of time.

FX International and Facebook!

Be sure to come out to the FX International at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando on April 17th-19th! It will be my first con ever in the creators area! I'll be selling sketchbooks, prints and the last remaining proofs to my Marvel Masterpieces cards from last year (trust me, they look waaaay better than the actual cards i did). Plus, they are signing guests like crazy for this thing. They got Leonard Nimoy for crying out loud! Leonard FREAKING Nimoy lol! Come on now, you know you want to go....

Head over to the site and check out all of the guests and events:

Total Drama Island

I have to admit that i'm a big fan of TDI. The vast variety of characters and how each one relates to a certain style/genre of people is what really intrigues me. Lindsay will be the first of many drawings i do relating to this wonderful series (well, hopefully).
Can't wait for Total Drama Action to start up here in the states!

Let there be chaos!

Eris, Goddess of Chaos from The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy. Another colored sketch for my sketchbook that is due out next month for FX. I'm trying to incorporate a few more pieces from cartoons in it so that its just not bogged down with pin-ups and heroines. Maybe i'll throw in some characters from Total Drama Island or something....

Logos and Megacon

Here are some of the logos i used for T-shirts at Megacon this year. Let me just say that Megacon was a blast! So many cool costumes and good times meeting people i have only seen and conversed with online. It's making me get hyped up even more for FX next month.....and a little bit more nervous.....

X-23!

A drawing of the feral X-Men heroine and Wolverine clone, X-23. While i'm not too big on the whole "Let's do a female clone of a charcter type of thing", there is something about her that has always caught my eye and made me like her. Maybe because i was such a fan of X-Men: Evolution or maybe it's because her character is so different from Wolverine's. I don't know, but she quickly became one of my favorite comic characters!

This is actually the first drawing i've completed since turning 30 a few weeks ago. I've still "got it" in my old age. This is also one of the new pieces that i plan on using in my first sketchbook for FX International in April. The sketchbook will consist of a lot of my favorite pieces that i have done along with several new and unseen work that i have to show (or produce, in some cases. lol)

We have missed you, Jessica Drew

With Secret Invasion ending this week, it's only fitting to do a Spider-Woman piece to celebrate the return of the REAL Jessica Drew (well hopefully.....don't make me a liar, Marvel! lol)

FX International

"And now here's something hopefully you'll really like..."

Well, hell has finally frozen over! I'm finally getting up off of my tail and getting a table at a convention. My first con will be the FX International show, here in Orlando, FL. I figured that starting some place close to home might be the best way to go. Not only that, but its the 20 year anniversary of the con and it looks like they are putting together one heck of a show!
While the show is quite a ways away (next April), i'm already pretty excited (and nervous) about it. For more info about that show, visit:

Molotov Joanie

Here's another one from Dragon*Con 2008. This one is of my DC partner in crime, Joanie (Ms. Mars) in her stunning Molotov Cocktease costume!

Dragon*Con Tigra!

So, this is the first result from my first trip to Dragon*Con last month: A drawing of cosplayer MzWhite as Tigra! I figured since I took so many pics of so many fantastic costumes at the con, it would only be fitting to turn some of them into drawings. Hope you guys like it!

Marvel Masterpieces

My submission for this year's Marvel Masterpieces set. With this being my first time ever drawing sketch cards, I haven't quite the hang of actually doing them. Not only that, with the crappy weather due to Tropical Storm Fay and the damage it caused to my house, it kept me from doing what I wanted to with the cards (i.e. make them cleaner/add color, etc). Ah well...excuses aside, here are some of them. Hopefully, I will get the opportunity to do more sketch cards in the future....
